Schneider-Kreutznach Symmar 150mm f5.6 Compur 1 electronic shutter Linhof select Comes with caps and locking ring for mounting
A classic normal lens on 4x5. This is a plasmat design in a Compur electronic shutter. Sharp at taking apertures, with a pleasing bokeh for selective focus.
The Compur Electronic shutter is cocked and released manually, but the exposure is timed electronically. Shutter speeds are accurately timed from 1/500 out to thirty two seconds. The original batteries are unobtainable now, but various stubby batteries fit the holder (I have used a CR2 battery with an aluminium foil spacer). Any voltage between 2.5 V and 6.0 V will correctly operate the timer.
There are a very few internal dust specks and slight marks on the paintwork. Very clean glass and coatings. A touch of 'Schneideritis' (loss of the blacking on the edges of the lens elements), which is harmless and common in Symmars of this vintage. The positive terminal of the battery inevitably corrodes and needs gentle cleaning every couple of months, even if there is no battery in the holder. This too, is typical of these shutters.
